The Satisfaction Guarantee Guarantee

If you received a bottle from us, you likely saw the card included with your order. It asks a simple question: Are you satisfied with everything? It also makes a simple promise. From first click to twisting the cap, my goal is to ensure your experience with Culinary Solvent is second to none. I signed that card personally, and I meant it. This page is here to explain what that promise actually means to me.

Why I Make This Promise

Most people do not buy ethanol just to have ethanol sitting on a shelf. They buy it because they are making something. Maybe it is a tincture recipe they have been thinking about for weeks. Maybe it is a perfume formula, a botanical extraction, or a recipe they want to get just right. Whatever the project is, it matters to the person making it. And when the final result matters, the quality of what goes into it matters too.

That has always mattered to me, because I know that what you are making is often not some thrown together, whatever-works kind of project. It is usually something more thoughtful than that. Something carefully considered. Something where the details matter. When that is the case, the ingredient you start with should be worthy of the result you are trying to create.

What We Learned Early

When we started distilling in 2008, I learned a lesson very quickly. Junk in equals junk out. At one point, I had access to what seemed like an endless supply of cull potatoes. At first, that sounded like an opportunity. In reality, it taught me in real time that poor inputs lead to poor outputs, and there is no clever shortcut later in the process that magically fixes that. Cull potatoes made cull alcohol.

That lesson stayed with me. It still shapes how I think about every bottle we produce today. If quality out matters, then quality in has to matter too.

What You Are Actually Getting

The ethanol you receive from Culinary Solvent is the ethanol we make here at our family owned and operated distillery in Brewer, Maine. We are not simply passing along somebody else’s product and hoping for the best. We have spent years refining our unique Pot Still Refined process to produce something very specific: a clean, neutral, consistent ethanol that performs like a true blank canvas.

That matters because this product is usually not the end of the story. It is the beginning of one. It becomes part of something else. Something useful. Something creative. Something personalized to a niche need that only exists because somebody took the time to turn an idea in their head into something real. I respect that process, and I want the ethanol we make to be worthy of being part of it.

What “Satisfaction Guaranteed” Means to Me

For me, satisfaction guaranteed is not just a phrase that sounds good on a card or webpage. It means that if something is wrong, I want to know about it. If something is confusing, I want the chance to fix it. If something did not meet your expectations, I take that seriously. Of course, it also means that if there is a real problem, we will work to make it right. But more than that, it means I do not want you to feel like you are dealing with a faceless system after the order arrives.

I want your experience with Culinary Solvent, from first click to twisting the cap, to feel like it came from people who care about what happens next. Because we do.

The Part I Enjoy Most

One of my favorite parts of running this business is getting a random email from a customer with pictures of what they are working on. Sometimes it is a project in progress. Sometimes it is a finished result. Sometimes it is an application or innovation I had not thought of myself. I love to use the ethanol we make. I love teaching other people how to use it. And I genuinely enjoy learning from what customers go on to create with it.

That back and forth means a lot to me. It reminds me that we are not just shipping bottles. We are helping people make things that matter to them.

If Something Is Not Right

If something about your order is not right, I want to hear about it. That is not empty wording included because it sounds good. I stand behind what we make, and I take your experience seriously. If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or does not meet expectations, contact us and we will make it right.
