The term "perfumer's alcohol" is used to represent any alcohol base that is able to dissolve fragrance oils into solution, with the purpose of releasing the fragrance into the air when the alcohol eventually evaporates. Perfume alcohol can be categorized into 2 types: "Pure" representing zero additives and only ethyl alcohol, or "Denatured" representing ethyl alcohol with additives like isopropyl myristate or diethyl phthalate.

Making perfume with alcohol can be as simple as adding the desired drops of fragrance oil into your alcohol base. Some recipes call for the dilution of ethyl alcohol to 70% before blending in fragrance oils to achieve the desired fragrance profile. Making perfume with alcohol does not require any waiting or aging steps, your perfume is ready to deploy once fragrance oils have been added.

Perfumer's alcohol base from Culinary Solvent will last many years if kept in the original bottle with the cap tightly closed. Store away from children and sources of heat of direct sunlight.
