Alcohol for Tincture, Perfumers, and Hobbyists: Is there a difference?

One product does it all.  Pure ethyl alcohol is an amazing molecule, and is useful across a wide range of projects and recipes.  Ethyl alcohol is a polar solvent that's safe for human consumption or topical application. Its useful property of evaporating away fully and completely when required makes it stand out from other common solvents or carrier oils.

While there is a difference between our Certified Organic alcohol and our "Regular" alcohol, there is no difference whatsoever between the products labeled for sale as "for tinctures", "for perfumers", or "for hobbyists".  While the listings on our ecommerce store are separate, the products that ship to fulfill those orders are identical in every way, shape, and form.  We use the same bottles of ethanol to fulfill orders for perfumers as we do for hobbyists as we do for tinctures.

Why separate listings (Tincture, Perfumers, Hobbyists) if the product is identical?

100% ethanol is useful for so many different applications.  In fact, the breadth of versatility exhibited by Culinary Solvent has presented me with a challenge: "How do I convey Culinary Solvent's 100% ethyl alcohol is perfect for everyone?"  I've tried cramming product listings with images and text, but this has presented as both scattered and cluttered.  So far, having separate listings categorized by use has been the best strategy to reinforce to customers seeking confirmation that our product does fit their specific needs.

If you are reading this page, you are probably curious to find out if Culinary Solvent is the same as Culinary Solvent Perfumers Alcohol.  Short answer: they are exactly identical in every way.  Read more to find out about the similarities and differences between Culinary Solvent and Culinary Solvent's Perfumer's Alcohol here.

What is the same on the inside of the bottle (ie the contents) and outside (ie the label)?

Answer: Everything.  Literally, everything.

What is different on the inside of the bottle (ie the contents) and outside (ie the label)?

Answer: Nothing. Literally, nothing.

Why offer different product listings for the same product?

100% ethanol is useful for so many applications.  In fact, the breadth of versatility exhibited by Culinary Solvent has presented me with a challenge: "How do I convey Culinary Solvent's 100% ethyl alcohol is perfect for everyone?"  Instead of cramming a single product listing with examples (and keywords) of potential uses, I have begun creating individual listings which emphasize particular uses applications for our 100% ethanol.  See also, extraction alcohol, utility alcohol, and food coloring (just to get started).  I'm always looking to improve, send me comments if you got 'em, Thanks! -Scott
