About Order Pickup Appointments
Maine residents are able to pick up their order of Culinary Solvent in-person at The Northern Maine Distilling Company distillery in Brewer, Maine. We offer pickup as a way of allowing local customers to save on shipping. Use this page to learn more about how to pick up your order from our distillery in Maine.
How to Make Your Order a Pickup Order
Orders can be scheduled for pickup by selecting “Pickup Appointment At Distillery” at checkout. To do so, follow the steps below.
- Once you have added your selected items (190 proof alcohol, 200 proof alcohol, and/or organic alcohol) for purchase from CulinarySolvent.com to your cart, select your cart from the top right-hand corner of your screen and click “Check out” in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Enter your email address and Maine address for your “Shipping method” options to appear. Note: even though you will be picking up your order, we do require your shipping address for Department of Transportation (DOT) paperwork.
- Choose "Pickup Appointment At Distillery" as your shipping method. Picking up your order is free.
- Enter your payment information and complete the checkout process as normal. Unfortunately, we do not allow payments at the time of pickup; all orders, pickup or shipped, must be paid in full prior to shipping or receipt.*
Scheduling Your Appointment
After you have placed your order, you will receive instructions via email for scheduling your pickup appointment. Allow one business day (Monday through Friday, excluding holidays) for your order to be fulfilled and prepared for pickup. Please contact us if you don’t receive an email to schedule your appointment or to confirm availability before placing an order.
Getting to the Distillery
Our address is 55 Baker Blvd., Brewer, Maine 04412.
If you enter our address into Google Maps, Apple Maps, or any other navigating application, the directions should bring you to the front of our building, which has a large flag pole in front of it. The entrance is a glass door. Look for our doorbell and sign to the right of the glass door outside (our doorbell is only accessible from the exterior of the building). Press the doorbell button when you arrive, and we will be out momentarily to assist you.
If the weather is inclement, call our office number, 207-974-3055, from your vehicle so we know you have arrived.

Directions from the North
Take I95 South to exit 182-A for I395 east. Take I395 east to exit 4. Stay to the right of the off ramp and merge onto Main St. Stay to the right of Main St. and take the second right onto East-West Industrial Blvd. (at the Irving office). Follow the road over the railroad tracks and past the bend to the left. After the bend, the road becomes Baker Blvd. Our driveway is the first turn on the left; you will see signs for "SnapSpace" and "Compotech.” Park in the lot nearest to the building for your pickup.
Directions from the South
Take I95 North to exit 182-A for I395 east. Take I395 east to exit 4. Picking Up Your Order
Ensure you have received an appointment confirmation email prior to making your way to the distillery for your pickup appointment. Please bring your order confirmation sent via email after you placed your order and government issued photo ID to your appointment. Upon arrival, call our office number listed above or use our doorbell, and we will be out to assist you.
FAQs: Picking Orders
Can I Change the Quantity or Type of Alcohol Ordered at Pickup?
Unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate changes (i.e., changes to the amount of alcohol ordered or the type, such as proof or organic or non-organic) to your order at your pickup appointment. Please make any change requests in advance of the pickup appointment time by replying to the confirmation email or using our contact form.
Can I Change My Appointment Time?
Yes. Please reply to your order confirmation email or use our contact form to request changes to your pickup appointment time.
What if I am Running Late or Miss my Appointment?
If you are running late, please call or email us as soon as you can to notify us of the delay and your expected time of arrival. We will do our best to accommodate late arrivals and can reschedule appointments for the next soonest available slot. Please note our office closes at 4:30 PM on weekdays, and we may have limited availability on Friday afternoons in the summer (Memorial day through Labor Day). Similarly, if you miss your appointment, just let us know and we will work to reschedule your appointment as soon as your availability permits.
*Can I Pay for My Order in Cash at Pickup?
We require that all orders be paid in full prior to shipping or pickup. However, we are able to accept cash at pickup for bulk orders of 20 gallons or more. If you are interested in paying with cash for your bulk order at time of pickup, please contact us prior to placing your order to make special pickup appointment arrangements.
