Can I substitute nondenatured ethanol for denatured alcohol?

Yes, it is acceptable to substitute nondenatured ethanol for denatured alcohol if your recipe calls specifically for denatured alcohol.  Use a 1:1 ratio when substituting nondenatured ethanol for denatured alcohol.  Choose 200 proof nondenatured ethanol when substituting for denatured alcohol.

For example, if your recipe calls for 8 fl oz of denatured alcohol, a substitution of 8 fl oz of 200 proof Culinary Solvent nondenatured alcohol should produce identical results.
